This review only applies to the restaurant visit! On the way home we took a detour to Lake Wallersee. A feeling of hunger and a craving for fish brought us here. We were very lucky and got a table on the terrace. We didn't expect such a crowd at lunchtime during the week. So consider a customer award for the restaurant if it is so popular. The location - see photo - couldn't be better to enjoy your meal in a cozy area with a beautiful view of the lake. The service was very friendly and competent, only a little offended when we told them that we would fillet the fish ourselves. As a starter we chose herb snails which were really excellent. The recommended Reinanke (unfortunately a Huchen was not available) It tasted excellent, just like the potatoes, just great! The prices are due to the location and the quality (a fish for €73.00, you have to want that), but if you consider everything that goes into it and that you treated yourself to something good, then it fits and is justified. Conclusion: The restaurant is definitely worth a detour! A table reservation is highly recommended. Parking spaces are available. You can often read in the reviews that the best fish is here. That's true, but I know other restaurants in Austria where you can also get very good fish!

I remembered the restaurant as a child because my parents went here to eat snails. After more than 50 years, I tried it again as a Salzburger and have to say, HAT OFF!! Excellent food (reinanke, mussels, crayfish soup), really perfect and very friendly service in a very pleasant atmosphere with quite acceptable prices! Of course, the unique view of Lake Wallersee is also fantastic! THANKS!! We would love to come back soon!

This review actually only refers to the restaurant Winkler. We can't evaluate the rooms in detail because (unfortunately) we have never stayed overnight. But the first impression is very good. The hotel's own lido, the wonderful view of the lake and the absolutely quiet location (dead end) should actually convince every guest. We have known the restaurant for many years and one can only say: There is hardly a nicer place in Salzburger Land to enjoy perfectly prepared fish (and other classics such as mussels, crayfish, chanterelles depending on the season, beef tartare, boiled beef aspic, snails, Salzburg dumplings, Wallersee cake or pancakes ...) to enjoy. The service is always friendly and courteous, even when the terrace is full. We have known many of the service staff for years, which probably indicates a very good working atmosphere at Winkler. The wine list also leaves nothing to be desired. Although the prices are high, they are justified by the quality of service, food, wine and the unique location on the lake.
